The American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez, also known as J-Lo, is visiting the Turkish Army Occupied part of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus in mid July 2010 to officially open a new hotel/casino there, the Cratos Premium Hotel and Casino.
Her planned visit is causing a good deal of controversy on an island divided by the war in 1974, and amongst other actions, has led to a Facebook Protest which in a couple of days has attracted some 7,000 supporters.

Cyprus was invaded by Turkey in July 1974. Some 6,000 people were killed by the over-whelming force of the Turkish Army, some 900 women were raped by this army and some 200,000 indigenous Cypriots ethnically cleaned and cleared from one-third of the Island, an area which remains under Turkish Army Occupation in violation of several UN Resolutions.
