When you first start in affiliate marketing it is fine to sell affiliate products through your domain name diverted to the affiliate link of your chosen product and you will make sales. But you are just making one time sales because you are not collecting the purchasers email address in these transactions. If you had been collecting their email addresses you get chance after chance of selling to them again by contacting them through their email address.

So I would definitely recommend that you set up a website where you can also collect their emails. You could do this easily with a one page website where you say, compare two similar affiliate products with two 200 word articles complete with affiliate links. But, also include an opt in box on the page for people to leave their email addresses in return for something of value. You will see on my website that people have an opportunity to leave their email.

For this you will need to an auto responder where people can opt in and then confirm their opt in by clicking on a link that is sent to their email address. This known as double opt in is so that you know the person applying for your free product is the person who gave the email address in the first place. Therefore this avoids you spamming anybody with false email addresses in the future which is very important because you know that every email address in your list is genuine.

There are two well known autoresponder companies but there are other smaller ones as well but as you can see it is well worth taking these steps to collect email addresses because this is going to help you make further sales in the future.
